Financial Aid Process

The Financial Aid process for the 2019-2020 academic year is underway.  If you anticipate enrollment and need financial assistance to help with your college expenses you must do the following in order to receive financial aid. 

Financial aid application requirements:

  • Create a Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID at https://fsaid.ed.gov/npas/index.htm to electronically complete and sign your 2019-2020 federal application (May also be created at fafsa.ed.gov)
  • Complete a 2019-2020 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at

            www.fafsa.ed.gov & List Morris College School Code (003439)

  • Important Note:  If possible, please use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool (DRT) in the FAFSA to transfer your 2017 income directly into the application.
  • Complete and submit the Morris College Application for Financial Aid (access online at morris.edu)

NOTE: Additional information may be requested if your 2019-2020 FAFSA is selected for verification.  If requested, you must submit the following information.

  • Verification Worksheet
  • If the IRS DRT not used, you will need to request both student’s and parents’ 2017 tax return transcript from the IRS at www.IRS.gov or 800-908-9946 (if applicable)
  • Verification of all non-taxable income received by you and your family during 2017

For your convenience as you complete the following tasks please indicate by making an (x) next to the item. FYI

______Complete a Morris College Application for Financial Aid (access at morris.edu)

______Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid – FAFSA (2019-2020)       

______Submit income information if requested for verification

______Log onto United Negro College Fund Website (www.uncf.org) & complete a       student profile for an opportunity to receive a scholarship (optional)

           Complete Student Loan Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note online

            www.studentloans.gov (must have FSA ID to sign in)         

We encourage you to complete and submit your information as soon as possible.  Your 2019-2020 FAFSA must be completed by March 31.  You may still apply after the deadline, however, the sooner you submit your information the sooner we can determine your eligibility for financial aid.  If you have any questions or need assistance, you may contact the Office of Financial Aid at (803) 934-3238 or 934-3245.
