Circulation Department

The Circulation Desk is located on the first floor. Here, you may check out books, return books, pay fines, place holds on books, check out reserve items and photocopy.

Checkout Policies

Morris College students, faculty and staff may check out books with their college ID cards. For additional information, contact the Circulation Department at (803) 934-3230.

Loan Policy

Books circulate for 2 weeks. Faculty may check out books for one semester. Renewals are possible as long as there are no holds or recalls, and must be made at the Circulation Desk. All materials are subject to recall immediately if needed for reserve. Periodicals and Reference books do not circulate. Proper identification (College ID) is required. Patrons may not renew books over the phone.

Reserve

Some professors place books, or articles on reserve for their courses in order to facilitate access of these materials to greater numbers of students. Reserve material is limited to in-house use only. To use reserve materials, students must present a valid Morris College ID card. Recalls

Patrons may recall a book if it is checked out. The material will be due two weeks from the date recalled, unless the original due date is earlier. When the book is returned, the circulation department will hold the book for you for one week.

Overdue Fines

Overdue fines are $0.05 per book per day. Fines do accrue on days the library is closed. Reserve book fines are $.25 an hour. PASCAL Delivers books are $100 per book not returned.

Returning Books

Books may be returned to the Circulation Desk on the first floor (Books from the Curriculum Materials/Media Collection may be returned to the Media Center on the third floor) and also via the exterior book depository at the front of the library.

Photocopying

The copier is located on the first floor by the Circulation Desk. Each copy is $0.10. Copies from the microform printers in Reference are also $0.10 each.
