The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) announced that Alumnus Smokie Norful—renowned pastor, Grammy Award-winning recording artist, and educator will deliver the keynote address at the 2025 Spring Commencement Ceremony. The ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 11, 2025. The procession will begin at 9:45 a.m., and the ceremony will start at 10:00 a.m. at the Pine Bluff Convention Center. The whole ceremony will be live-streamed on the UAPB-TV YouTube channel.

A tree-planting ceremony will commemorate the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff’s (UAPB) 152nd Founders’ Week Celebration and National Arbor Day. It will be a momentous occasion that connects us to our rich history and legacy. This event, scheduled for Monday, April 21, 2025, at 10 a.m. near the W.E. O’Bryant Bell Tower on the UAPB campus, is open to all. A Leyland Cypress tree will be planted, marking the start of exciting and historical UAPB Founders’ Week events. A group of University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) scholars recently learned the proper protocol and behaviors for interacting with current and prospective employers in a dining setting. The UAPB’s Emerging Scholars Leadership Institute (ESLI), a program dedicated to fostering leadership skills and professional development among students, showcased the art of fine dining as the host of its second annual dining event. The comprehensive table etiquette workshop used a full-course meal as the template for learning.
