Army and Air Force ROTC
Serve the nation as you become a leader.
LEARN AND LEAD
Morris College is home to Reserve Officers’ Training Programs which offer students the opportunity to pursue their college degree while simultaneously training to become commissioned officers in the United States Army or United States Air Force. The programs are supervised by the Division of Education, reflecting its commitment to leadership development and service. They are elective programs which integrate with students’ existing academic regimen.
Both programs began through cross-enrollment agreements with the University of South Carolina (USC). While Morris College hosts its own unique programs and cadets, it also operates as an extension center for USC’s ROTC programs, allowing Morris College students access to resources and training within larger programs.
ARMY ROTC
The Morris College Army ROTC program began in June 1985 through a cross-enrollment agreement with USC and continues to partner with USC’s Gamecock Battalion.
The program provides students with instruction and practical experience in leadership development; theory and practice; values and ethics; effective written and oral communication; problem-solving and critical thinking; teamwork and followership; physical fitness and training; and military science. Scholarship opportunities are also available to qualifying students.
Army ROTC allows Morris College students to combine their academic studies with military leadership development while preparing for the responsibilities of commissioned service in the United States Army.
AIR FORCE ROTC
The Morris College Air Force ROTC program began in March 2025 through a cross-enrollment agreement with USC and continues to partner with USC’s Air Force ROTC Detachment 775.
The program provides cadets with aerospace studies courses, leadership drills and exercises, team-building activities, physical fitness and training, and field training. Scholarship and commissioning opportunities are also available to qualifying cadets.
Air Force ROTC gives Morris College students an opportunity to pursue their college degree while developing the leadership, discipline, teamwork, and professional preparation necessary for service as a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force.
