The University of Arkansas Pine Bluff (UAPB) Chancellor’s Medallion, the highest honor presented during the commencement ceremony, has been awarded to five exceptional students. We proudly announce the recipients of the UAPB Spring 2025 Chancellor’s Medallion, who will be honored at the commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Pine Bluff Convention Center.
DeAndra Haynes and Caleb Williams, two graduating seniors from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB), will be commissioned during the 2025 Spring Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 10, 2025. Haynes, a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, will be commissioned as a second lieutenant health service administration officer with the U.S. Army. Williams, a native of Little Rock, Arkansas, will be commissioned as an Infantry Officer in the Arkansas Army National Guard.
The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) men’s golf team made history this week, capturing the 2025 PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship at the renowned Whistling Straits course in Kohler, Wisconsin. This landmark achievement marks UAPB’s first-ever HBCU National Championship in men’s golf and a historic milestone for HBCU athletics. #UAPB
The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) announced that Alumnus Smokie Norful—renowned pastor, Grammy Award-winning recording artist, and educator will deliver the keynote address at the 2025 Spring Commencement Ceremony. The ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 11, 2025. The procession will begin at 9:45 a.m., and the ceremony will start at 10:00 a.m. at the Pine Bluff Convention Center. The whole ceremony will be live-streamed on the UAPB-TV YouTube channel.
UAPB has postponed the Chancellor’s Spring Soirée, initially scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 2025, on campus. A new date for the event will be announced soon.
A tree-planting ceremony will commemorate the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff’s (UAPB) 152nd Founders’ Week Celebration and National Arbor Day. It will be a momentous occasion that connects us to our rich history and legacy. This event, scheduled for Monday, April 21, 2025, at 10 a.m. near the W.E. O’Bryant Bell Tower on the UAPB campus, is open to all. A Leyland Cypress tree will be planted, marking the start of exciting and historical UAPB Founders’ Week events. A group of University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) scholars recently learned the proper protocol and behaviors for interacting with current and prospective employers in a dining setting. The UAPB’s Emerging Scholars Leadership Institute (ESLI), a program dedicated to fostering leadership skills and professional development among students, showcased the art of fine dining as the host of its second annual dining event. The comprehensive table etiquette workshop used a full-course meal as the template for learning.
The John Brown John Watson Memorial Library System at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) will host a book signing event for author Saige-Annette Jarrett, featuring her latest psychological suspense and romance novel, The Stranger in My Soul.
