Countdown to UAPB Homecoming 2025: What You Need to Know

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) Homecoming celebration is set for October 5-11, 2025. The annual week-long experience brings together alumni, students, faculty, staff, fans from across the country, and surrounding communities. UAPB’s Homecoming continues a rich HBCU tradition with lively activities, including a parade that will feature floats and marching bands, along with concerts, Greek step shows, reunions, open houses, a golf tournament, outdoor festivals, and an exciting football game against Westgate Christian College. And we are honored to welcome Alumnus Perry Stuckey as this year’s Homecoming Parade Grand Marshal.

UAPB Multimedia Communication Student Receives Distinguished ‘Behind the Camera’ Award and Scholarship

Jada Tolbert, a junior at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB), has received the distinguished “Behind the Camera” Award and Scholarship from the National Arts and Letters Commission of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. at the 2025 National Convention. Tolbert, a UAPB Multimedia Communication scholar, was one of three winners nationwide of the award.

A New Era for UAPB Theater: From The Color Purple to Memphis the Musical

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) Theater Department is undergoing a remarkable revitalization, a testament to the collective efforts of faculty, students, and the community. As UAPB ends the 2025 spring semester, Taijee Bunch, in his first year as UAPB’s theater instructor, has directed the production of The Color Purple, The Musical in April and is currently working as the director for Memphis the Musical, set to grace the Catherine M. Bellamy Theater at The Arts & Science Center, 701 S. Main St. in Pine Bluff, from July 17-20, 2025.

Justin Braylock, originally from Blytheville, Arkansas, achieved two significant goals in May. On May 10, 2025, he received a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) during the Spring 2025 Commencement Ceremony. One week before accomplishing his educational milestone, he represented UAPB at the prestigious Unity Experience & 2025 Meta Gala in New York City.

The Art of Fine Dining: A Skill Set for Scholars at UAPB

A group of University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) scholars recently learned the proper protocol and behaviors for interacting with current and prospective employers in a dining setting. The UAPB’s Emerging Scholars Leadership Institute (ESLI), a program dedicated to fostering leadership skills and professional development among students, showcased the art of fine dining as the host of its second annual dining event. The comprehensive table etiquette workshop used a full-course meal as the template for learning.
