UAPB School of Education Playing Pivotal Role in Statewide IPSE Program

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) will play a central role in a new statewide initiative to expand Inclusive Postsecondary Education (IPSE) opportunities for students with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, following the award of approximately $2 million in federal funding to Arkansas State University over the next five years. The initiative will help campuses strengthen transition pathways and practical skill-building programs across the state. As part of this work, UAPB is introducing a new program within the School of Education and welcomes Robbin Hudson Huntley, Program Coordinator, who will oversee campus activities and serve as the primary contact for students, families, and community partners seeking additional information.

UAPB Staff Members and Alumna Named 2026 New Leaders Council Arkansas Fellows

Two staff members and an alumna of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) have been named 2026 New Leaders Council (NLC) Arkansas Fellows. Angela Howard, an Extension Program Aide in Agriculture & Family and Consumer Sciences, Jermaine L. Ramos, a Student Involvement Analyst in the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership (OSIL), and 2022 UAPB Alumna Alexandria Slater are among the 20 Arkansas fellows who were selected.

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) and the Little Rock School District (LRSD) announced a new partnership in mid-December 2025, establishing the Hydroponic Plant Systems Career Pathway at Little Rock Southwest High School (LRSWHS). The initiative marks a significant step forward in expanding access to high-skill, high-demand career preparation in agriculture, STEM, and emerging Agri-Technology fields for Arkansas students.

UAPB Fall 2025 Grad Finds Gold in Pine Bluff Higher Education

Before arriving at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB), Jordan Lowe received advice he did not initially understand.

“Pine Bluff is what you make it.  It’s easy to see all of the bad things that are wrong with Pine Bluff, but it’s harder to find the good.  But when you find the good, it’s gold.  I have found the good, and it definitely is gold,” Lowe said. The Memphis, Tennessee native received his Bachelor of Science in Administration and Finance during UAPB’s 172nd commencement ceremony on Saturday, December 13, 2025.
