PRESS RELEASE
Sumter, S.C. – Morris College’s President Dr. Said Sewell was selected to appear in the fall edition of the National Publication, H.B.C.U. Times to highlight the great work taking place at the college under his tenure as president. Morris College’s story and the impact of the Sewell presidency is recognized nationwide via this prominent publication.
The article reviews the impact of Dr. Sewell’s extraordinary three-year presidency that includes the Morris College’s movement in increasing enrollment, retention, and morale. Coined and implemented by Dr. Sewell, the four pillars of the institution–mission, mastery, modernization, and mobilization infuse the college’s momentum as it continues moving forward.
“What a tremendous honor it is to receive national recognition for the work that we are doing at Morris College. To know that others are seeing the evidence of our work to impact students over these three years is most humbling,” said Dr. Sewell.
Additionally mentioned in the article are comments by the President of the South Carolina Baptist E & M Convention’s President Dr. Jamie O. Graham, Morris College Board Chairperson, Dr. Phillip Baldwin, and a review of the 43-year tenure accomplishments of former president, Dr. Luns. C. Richardson.
