Jermaine L. Johnson, Sr. is a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives representing the 52nd District, which covers Kershaw and Richland counties. Born in Los Angeles, he overcame homelessness to go forward and earn a bachelor’s degree from the College of Charleston, a master’s degree in management from Stayer University, and a doctorate in business administration and organizational leadership from Northcentral University. He is a former professional basketball player and the founder and CEO of New Economics Beginnings Foundation and owns DT Consulting. He sits on the Labor and Commerce and Industry Committees.
