Ms. Takeara Robinson has been a phenomenal Pathways to Medicine Program participant. This summer she participated in the SC AHEC summer book club which covered, Diabetes: A History of Race and Disease” which provides an in-depth examination of diabetes in the context of race, public health, class and heredity. She was a chaperone for our high school exploration program’s visit to Central Carolina for a campus tour. Takeara was also able to observe for the first time in the McLeod Regional Medical Center (Florence, South Carolina) with Dr. Rodney Alan, Orthopedics (pictured). Takeara completed office observations with Dr. Michael Ouzts at McLeod Primary Care in Turbeville, South Carolina.
I am thankful for Takeara’s dedication to the program and her pursuit of her Healthcare Career! We wish her best of luck as she prepares to take the MCAT in September 2022. Pee Dee AHEC is excited about her future in medicine.
