NOTICE TO ALL BOARDING STUDENTS REGARDING GETTING YOUR PERSONAL BELONGINGS OUT OF THE RESIDENCE HALLS

At this time, we are requesting that all boarding students make preparation to remove your belongings from the residence halls. With the health and safety of everyone in mind, this information is being shared to ensure a smooth process to assist you with getting all of your belongings out of the residence hall.

Females will be permitted to get their belongings from the three female residence halls (AMMA, ADMS, and Bowman-Clark) from Wednesday, March 25th through Friday, March 27th between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm.

Males will be permitted to get their things from the three male residence halls (RCJ, DKW, and Alexander-Graham) from Monday, March 30th through Wednesday, April 1th between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm.

Students will not be permitted to get belongings out of the residence halls after Friday, April 3rd until a later date.

The following guidelines must be followed:

  • Please present your Student Identification Card to Campus Security upon arriving on campus. Campus Security will direct you to your respective residence hall.
  • Upon arriving at the residence hall, you will receive instructions from the residence hall staff as to how to proceed.
  • Only 1 student (and an approved family member, if needed) will be permitted in the residence hall at a time. No children will be allowed in the buildings at any time.
  • To keep you and the environment as safe as possible (per CDC Guidelines), once you have entered your room, you must move quickly to gather your belongings and leave the building.
  • After you have secured your belongings, you will be required to stop at the front office to sign in your room key with the residence hall staff.  You will then be required to leave the building and campus immediately.

Local Law Enforcement will be on hand to assist this through this process. We ask that you please demonstrate patience, understanding and cooperation as we attempt to get through this difficult time together.  Please know that we have you and your family’s best interest at heart, and as always, let’s remain Hornet Strong in and through this challenging time.

If you have questions or concerns regarding this matter, please contact Mrs. Tonia Washington, Director of Residential Life at (803) 934-3175 or the Office of Student Affairs at (803) 934-3217.
