Morris College Sumter Alumni Chapter Donates Gift to College

October 28, 2021

The Morris College Sumter Alumni Chapter donated $5000 to the college. The unrestricted funds will be used for general, operational, and advancement of the college. The money was raised through several fundraisers held by the entire Sumter Alumni Chapter. Overall, the Sumter Alumni Chapter participates in activities, outreach, and community service events “to better the institution through fundraising events” as well as “to provide funds to the college,” said Jeffery W. Jackson, assistant chief of police Sumter Police Department and president of Sumter Alumni Chapter.

“We just took place in a raffle during Morris College’s last Alumni Weekend, which included a local and national drawing. In August, we assisted with returning students to give a little more visibility to students so they could see [the Sumter Alumni Chapter members] on the front end because most of them are used to seeing and hearing about the Alumni chapters after graduation,” continued Jackson.
