Morris College Students Honored for Academic Achievement

October 28, 2021

On Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 10 a.m. in the Neal-Jones Auditorium, students were honored for making outstanding academic achievements from the fall 2021 semester. “I believe in you; I believe the seed of greatness is in you because you were created to be great, you are created in an imagery of God and his fingerprints are all over you,” said Christopher McKinney, guest speaker and executive director of the Santee-Lynches Regional Council of Governments (COG). McKinney continued to encourage students to continue and consistently pursue academic excellence through four important tips: “start with the end in mind,” “excellence must be the standard, “learn to lead and not just mark bubbles,” and “you are more than enough.” Towards the end of the ceremony, students listened intently as McKinney ended his message with “Things such as money, power, position and possessions make phenomenal tools, but horrible masters, know the difference.” To view the live-streamed ceremony, click here.
