Thirteen Morris College students and two honorary members were inducted virtually into Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 6 p.m. via zoom. Delta Mu Delta is a business honor society that recognizes and encourages academic excellence of students at qualifying colleges and universities to create a DMD community that fosters the well-being of its individual members and the business community through life-time membership.
During the ceremony, the purpose of the organization was shared along with details about scholarship to Morris College inductees, faculty, staff, and inductees’ guests. Dr. Deloris Wallace Brown, Morris College interim director of organizational management shared information about being a scholar.
New student members included juniors and seniors at Morris College majoring in Business and Organizational Management who have a 3.25 Grade Point Average (GPA) and rank in the top twenty percent of currently enrolled business administration baccalaureate students. “Learning is an ongoing process and should continue throughout one's life time,” said Dr. Deloris McBride, Morris College’s Delta Mu Delta Omicron Pi chapter faculty advisor and associate professor of computer information systems. Dr. Leroy Staggers, Morris College president inspired the students to aspire to greatness by focusing on a specific opportunity to expand knowledge and make it available to others.
In addition to the new student members, Dr. Kevin Richardson, Morris College’s division of business administration chairperson and Dr. Deloris Wallace-Brown, Morris College’s interim director of organizational management was inducted as honorary members. “To have your colleagues recognize you for excellence in your chosen profession is a humbling experience and I am honored and thankful to be inducted into this prestigious society,” said Dr. Richardson. “I am honored to a part of this distinguished organization,” said Dr. Brown.
