Morris College Gospel Choir wins first place in the 2nd Annual Lake City “Lift Your Voice” Gospel Choir and Spoken Word Showcase

(LAKE CITY, S.C.) — The beloved Morris College Gospel Choir took home the title of “Lift Your Voice” Gospel Choir champions over the weekend.
On Friday, February 22, 2019, the group of vocalists traveled to Lake City to perform in the 2nd Annual Lake City “Lift Your Voice” Gospel Choir and Spoken Word competition.
The talented young musicians came in first place in the collegiate category defeating the College of Charleston Gospel Choir and Coastal Carolina Gospel Choir.
The first place title also awarded the group a $2,000 cash prize!
The competition honors the musical roots and oral traditions of the African American culture. Several vocalists performed from across the state, including high school and college gospel choirs.
Admission is free with four non-perishable food items.
Morris College Gospel Choir is open to all students who enjoy singing gospel music.
