Ormondo Graham, of Kingstree High School, is the 2019 recipient of the Arthur McBride Jr. Memorial Scholarship. He was presented a $500 scholarship after the Kingstree High School graduation on June 8.

Richard McBride, the youngest son of Deacon Arthur McBride Jr., was in attendance to present Graham with his scholarship. Last month, Ormondo signed his national letter of intent to play baseball at Morris College in Sumter. McBride said “It has always been a privilege to award students for their hard work and dedication to academics. I hope that this scholarship will assist Ormondo with his financial obligations in the fall.”

The Arthur McBride Jr. Memorial Scholarship was established in 2012 to recognize one graduating senior from C. E. Murray High School. The scholarship eligibility has been expanded to include any graduating senior from Williamsburg County who has maintained a 2.0 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale, or its equivalent. Finally, the student must plan to continue their education at an institution of higher learning.
