In March, Morris College alum Quan K.R. Stewart was named the Assistant Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the General Baptist State Convention of North Carolina.
In his new role, Stewart is second in command at the Baptist Headquarters and will assist in the day-to-day operation of the Convention.
Some of his duties include providing assistance to churches and associations, offer professional advice among a number of other responsibilities.

Gray, Executive Secretary-Treasurer. “He brings energy, excitement and a very wholesome enthusiasm about our work and his role in that work. I see great things happening because of Reverend Stewart’s work with GBSC.”
Stewart is a 2007 graduate of Morris College and is a former pastor of the Saint John Missionary Baptist Church in Bolivia, North Carolina.
The Bennettsville native served for nine years at Saint John after his career as a high school history teacher.
In 2015. the Wilmington Star News named him one of their “Twelve to Watch.” In making the designation, the newspaper said that he was driven: “to teach, to rehabilitate, to minister, to support and to lead.”
