development of individual abilities and the marketable skills
necessary to secure employment in business, industry, government or
other agencies.
The Division is aware of society’s need for persons in responsible
positions to display professional, moral and ethical behavior and
seeks to develop skills for solving problems, appreciating global
concepts, and utilizing technology. We endeavor to provide
experiences that will assist students in developing an understanding
of the free enterprise system as well as business functions, operations,
and interrelationships.
In short, Business Administration majors will exhibit strong
leadership qualities and effective managerial skills in a professional
environment.
The Division of Business Administration focuses on the
development of individual abilities and the marketable
skills necessary to secure employment in business, industry,
government or other agencies.
The Division’s National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA)
Program, which is coordinated jointly with the Division of Natural
Sciences and Mathematics, prepares qualified students for exciting
entry-level administrative positions in the field of nuclear security and
safety at NSSA.
The Organizational Management major is a unique alternative to
the traditional degree program. It offers working adults who are at
least 25 years old the opportunity to earn a baccalaureate degree in
as little as eighteen months. (The actual time will vary according to
the number of credits by discipline transferred.) Classes meet one
evening each week.
While studying Business Administration and Organizational
Management, students have an opportunity to serve the community
in Phi Beta Lambda. They also enjoy the opportunity to
earn valuable work experience through our Cooperative Education
Program. Positions are available year-round in Sumter and throughout
the Midlands area of South Carolina.
