Several law enforcement agencies, local dignitaries, Baptist leaders, alumni, the campus community, and members of the Morris College Board of Trustees were present on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 for the ribbon cutting and official opening of the new Morris College Criminal Justice Forensic Center. Forensic Center Director, Carlotta Stackhouse, reports the facility will serve approximately 100 criminal justice majors specializing in the area of criminal forensics.

The Forensic Center is equipped with four labs, Ballistics, Drug and Arson, DNA, and Fingerprint Analysis. The center also houses a vehicle bay that will allow crucial evidence to be collected during inclement weather. It will also expedite services for the surrounding law enforcement community as forensic laboratory services will be available in close proximity. The MCFC is the only full service educational forensic center in South Carolina.

Stackhouse states, “This is a training ground for forensic scientist. The facility will truly enhance the criminal justice program, the third largest major at Morris College.
