Students Participate in Inaugural Study Abroad Program

On Sunday, November 1, 2009, twenty-six Morris College students and four faculty and staff members will depart for a short-term educational tour of Europe to study international business and modern drama. The students are enrolled in two Study Abroad courses. The first destination is Dublin, Ireland where they will visit Trinity College and view the famous "Book of Kells" from the Middle Ages. Then it is on to North Wales for a visit to a Medieval castle. The next destination is London, England to tour businesses and theatres, as well as Buckingham Palace, London Bridge, and the House of Parliament. The group will also visit Shakespeare’s birthplace and Anne Hathaway’s cottage in Stratford–on-Avon. Finally, they will travel through "The Chunnel" to Paris, France. The last leg of the journey will take them to the exciting "City of Lights" where they will be able to view great masterpieces of fine art at "The Louvre," absorb the amazing architecture of The Eiffel Tower, and Arch du Triompe.
Also, as a major part of the travel, students will visit Hult International Business School in London to compare the business climates in the United States and Europe. While in London, students will visit Bloomberg Institute. Bloomberg is one of the largest financial software, news, and data companies in the world, and the London office is one of the company’s largest. In Paris the students will visit IBM IT Services Delivery Unit Headquarters, which covers Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
The group will return on November 10th and on December 2nd students will present the exciting reports and journals of their study abroad experiences.
